Children’s Ministry

Children’s Ministry at Covenant is all about Jesus. Our desire is to help children to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, to grow in their faith as followers of Jesus, and to go out into the world to represent Jesus.

Nursery

WE OFFER SAFE AND SECURE NURSERY CARE DURING SERVICES AND FOR SPECIAL EVENTS.

Sundays from 9:00 to 12:00 p.m. Available for infant through age 3

Our staff of qualified individuals ministers to infants through preschool-age children each Sunday and Wednesday night.

All children are assigned to age-appropriate rooms.

Bible stories, snack time, and playtime are all part of our scheduled activities.

Safety is Our Priority

When you drop your kids off in our Children's Ministry, we put their safety first. Kids' Ministry is offered for babies through 5th grade.

They will be in classrooms with others of similar age and grade. If you’re visiting us for the first time, connect with our Children's Ministry

Sunday School

Sundays from 10:00 to 10:50 a.m. For ages 3 through 5th grade. All our classes are Bible based and focused on truth.

Our desire is to see kids learn who Jesus is and grow in their individual faith. If you are visiting for the first time and have questions contact Angela Sewell. 

Mom's Morning

A time for moms to meet and let kids play. Contact Angela for dates.

Kids' Connection

Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. For Kindergarten through 5th grade.

Youth Ministry

Our Youth Ministry creates a space for our teens and their friends to follow Christ and form lasting relationships. Their regular meetings include practical Bible studies, games, food, and fun. Special events are planned throughout the year.

Sunday School

Time on Sundays is largely focused on studying God’s Word and learning how to apply it to everyday life. Wednesday nights are another opportunity for students to have fun and build healthy relationships, as they grow together in their understanding and experience of Christian community. If you are in middle school, we have a place for you!

Young Adult Ministry

looking to grow deeper in God’s word. It offers opportunities for ages of 18-35 to build meaningful connection with others as they do life together.

Men's & Women's Ministry

We seek to foster Christ-centered relationship among the men and women of Covenant. They gather for fellowship, Bible study, prayer, and seek ways to serve our community together.

Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Various studies throughout the year with a variety of topics.

Women's Circle

3rd Thursday of the month (March-November)

The Women’s Circle meets at 11:45 a.m. for a luncheon.

Prayer and Bible Study (Men)

Thursdays from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m.

Quarterly Breakfasts (Men)

Discipleship Ministry

The gospel leads us to follow Jesus with head and heart and hands. We learn and grow together in our Sunday School time, in our Small Groups and in intentional discipleship relationships.

Small Groups

Small Groups of 8-12 people meet for Bible study and prayer, living life together.

Sunday School

Sundays from 10:00 to 10:50 a.m. Provide a range of topics to ground people in the Scriptures.

Discipleship Groups

Meet regularly with a smaller group of three-eight people for close and intentional discipleship relationship.

Fellowship Ministry

We seek to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. We also enjoy one another. We know that God strengthens us and causes us to grow through our time together. We have many fellowship opportunities and meals throughout the year.

JOY Group

2nd Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. Our JOY (Just Older Youth) Group meets once a month (March through November) where we enjoy a meal and guest speaker.

All-Church Meals

On special occasions throughout the year we do a combined worship service at 11:00 a.m. followed by a church luncheon. See  church calendar for current dates.

Dinners 8

Various times throughout the year. Sign-ups occur at least one month prior when groups of eight will get together to share a meal and get to know each other better.

Outreach Ministry

As we focus on the gospel throughout our ministries, every ministry becomes an opportunity to reach out to our community in love. We also have regular events throughout the year at which we seek to welcome our neighbors to Covenant. And we forge intentional connections with mission partners who are serving Christ in our community and around the world.

Special Events

Scheduled throughout the year. These events include: Neighborhood Festival (August), Fall Festival (October), Choral Festival (Summer), Annual Christmas Musical (December) and other special programs. Check out the Events page on our website.

Community Engagement

We have regular ministry opportunities like Mom’s Morning or Pick-up Basketball to connect relationally with our community in their stages of life and in their interests.

Covenant has more than 20 mission partners here in Omaha and around the world. See the full listing on our website. Each year we have a Mission Sunday at which we celebrate and hear from our mission partners.

Congregational Care

The gospel makes us into a community that cares for one another. At Covenant we are intentional to build Christ-centered relationships, advocate for those in need, and care for the spiritual, psychological, and social needs of each person.

Elders & Deacons

Covenant has two ordained offices of Elder and Deacon. Our Elders seek to provide spiritual care to the members of Covenant. Our Deacons serve the practical needs of our members and community.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministers provide high-quality, one-to-one, Christ-centered care to people in the congregation and the community experiencing life difficulties.

Group and Individual Counseling

We offer a variety of support groups, individual and family counseling. Also, assistance in navigating senior living transitions and health care concerns for all ages.

Volunteer Opportunities

The gospel makes us into a community that serves together. God has given every believer gifts to benefit the body of Christ. Whatever your gifts there is way for you to get involved. Each of our ministries has opportunities, and we have many volunteer teams where you can serve.

Ushers & Greeters

Serve during either of our Worship Service times.

All-Church Meal Teams

We have multiple all-church meals throughout the year. Volunteer to help with set-up, serving, or clean-up at one of our meals

Audio-Visual Team

Be part of helping with sound, projection and live-stream for our services.

Worship Service Reader

Participate in one of our worship services with the reading of scripture.

Music Ministry

We were made to worship. Utilizing many different styles of music from contemporary to classic hymns, our goal is to honor Christ above all in the music that we offer in worship and for special events throughout the year.

Bell Choir

Rehearsals: Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. The Bell Choir plays four times throughout the year and rehearse from September through April.

The Covenant Hand Bell Choir (Unbroken Circle Ringers) rings praises to our Lord! We highly suggest you have some music background and can read music.

Performances are twice in the fall and spring. Rehearsals start in late August - November. They pick up in February for spring performances.

Childcare is available during rehearsals and provide help on homework for older kids!

In 2024, Covenant's Chancel Choir performed at Carnegie Hall under the direction of

Kevin Boesiger, Director of Music and Outreach. Kevin and the Covenant Choir are again scheduled to perform at Carnegie in 2027.
